Gaza Famine

Gaza Famine

The article addresses the manmade famine in Gaza as confirmed by the UN's Integrated Food Security Phase Classification panel on Friday. Despite denials and spin, the ugly fact remains that Gaza is experiencing a deliberate famine caused by systematic obstruction by Israel. The harrowing images from the besieged Palestinian territory have made this reality evident to the world. Israel, responsible for this crime, and the US, Tel Aviv's principal foreign backer, refuse to acknowledge this inconvenient truth despite widespread consensus on the cause. The findings reveal that half a million people face catastrophic hunger in Gaza City, with famine conditions likely to spread to other parts of the Strip. UN officials stated the famine results from systemic obstruction by Israel, but the Zionist state's prime minister dismissed these findings as an outright lie. The US State Department also cast doubts, claiming Hamas was promoting a false narrative regarding mass starvation in Gaza.

The editorial draws parallels between Israel's current tactics and Nazi Germany, noting that although many Jewish elders were murdered and starved by Nazi Germany, Israel's current rulers seem intent on replicating the repulsive tactics of the Third Reich. Gaza has been transformed into a modern concentration camp, with tens of thousands of Palestinians - including innocent children - murdered by Israeli forces in similar fashion to how Hitler's troops butchered European Jews.

The heart-wrenching images from Gaza, particularly of starving, lifeless youngsters and babies, bear striking resemblance to the gaunt, ghostly pictures of Holocaust victims.

Along with imitating Nazi tactics through genocide and ethnic cleansing, and manufacturing a famine by severely restricting food and water entry, Tel Aviv and its American supporters have mastered the Nazis' dark art of propaganda. Denying the existence of famine when all credible international institutions confirm Gaza is being purposely starved exemplifies this propaganda. The editorial emphasizes that genocide and starvation in Gaza are a stain on humanity's conscience. Many states and institutions have expressed shock over the UN panel's findings, but empty rhetoric and 'thoughts and prayers' will not ease the Palestinians' plight. If the international community is serious about ending Israeli crimes in Gaza, there must be solid action. Until Tel Aviv declares an unconditional ceasefire and lifts the Gaza siege by allowing in food, water, fuel and medicine, all UN member states should impose a trade and weapons embargo on Israel. The Arab and Muslim states must lead the way, as it cannot be business as usual with Israel while it starves and slaughters innocent people.
