Rawalpindi Bus Accident Leaves at Least 8 Dead, Over 20 Injured

A tragic accident occurred near the Balksar Interchange on the M-2 Motorway, where a passenger bus overturned. According to ARY News, quoting motorway police, at least eight people lost their lives, and more than 20 others were injured. The bus was traveling from Rawalpindi to Lahore when a tyre burst caused it to overturn.

Rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene and began emergency operations. The injured and deceased were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Chakwal. Emergency responders continued to assist the affected passengers at the site.

In another tragic incident earlier, a passenger bus carrying wedding guests from Astore, Gilgit-Baltistan, to Chakwal met with a deadly accident. The bus veered off the Thalichi Bridge and fell into the river, killing 26 people. Only the bride, Malaika, survived the crash.

Deputy Commissioner Astore, Muhammad Tariq, confirmed that 14 bodies had been recovered and shifted to the Astore DHQ Hospital. Rescue teams, police, and local residents are still working together to search for the remaining victims and manage the aftermath of the accident.
